Metaphor-Amy Lowell uses the metaphor "The row of white, sparkling shop-fronts is gashed and bleeding, it bleeds red slippers," to describe the store fronts. This line describes the Imagism movement exactly. It uses the metaphor of a bleeding wound to show you how vibrant and red the shop windows were.
Imagery-Lowell describes images of "plopping their little round maroon lights upon the tops of umbrellas," to show us exactly how the scene would look. With all the images she describes I can clearly see the stores along the streeet and even the red slippers dangling in their windows.
Onomatopoeia-Lowell uses the onomatopeia "Snap, snap, they are cracker sparks of scarlet in the white, monotonous block of shops." to describe the street scene. This enhances the poem because it creates the image all the more real. It makes me feel totally immersed in the scene, which is what imagism is all about.
